The Baggies levelled jut six minutes into the second half after Dejan Lovren was adjudged to have fouled Saido Berahino with the young striker converting from the resulting penalty for 1-1. However, Liverpool bounced back just five minutes later with a stunning strike from Jordan Henderson which proved to be enough to secure all three points.
Sunderland moved away from the bottom three with a 3-1 win over Stoke who despite falling to a defeat sit four points clear of the danger zone themselves. Connor Wickham put the hosts in front inside four minutes before Charlie Adam equaliser for the Potters in the 15th minute but Sunderland went into the interval ahead after a 23rd minute strike from Steven Fletcher. Fletcher confirmed the win for Sunderland when he struck for a second time in the 79th minute for 3-1.
Swansea missed the chance to move into the top four as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Newcastle who still sit in the bottom three despite securing a point.The Swans went ahead in the 17th minute through Wilfried Bony's strike but were pegged back just before the interval as Papiss Cisse made it 1-1 in the 43rd minute.
