As the year moves into May, the final part of the season begins and on the European stage this means its semi final time in the Champions and Europa Leagues.
Tuesday night saw the first of the Champions League ties as Juventus played host to defending champions Real Madrid and secured a 2-1 victory to put them just 90 minutes away from lucrative place in the final. Alvaro Morata struck inside eight minutes against his former club before Cristiano Ronaldo drew Real level on 27 minutes. However, Juventus regained the lead on 57 minutes with Carlos Tevez striking the winning goal from the penalty spot.
Wednesday night saw a huge clash between Barcelona and Bayern Munich with the Catalans storming to a 3-0 victory that bar a Porto-esque repeat from Bayern should see the through to the final. Thursday night saw a Europa League double header starting with defending champions Sevilla's hosting of Fiorentina with the La Liga side strolling to a 3-0 win to put hem just 90 minutes away from back-to-back finals.
A brace from Vidal Parreu on 17 and 52 minutes put the hosts in control before Gameiro sealed the win with a 75th minute strike.
The other semi final saw Napoli host Dnipro with the Ukrainians coming from behind to salvage a draw and a vital away goal in a 1-1 draw. Lopez Silva put Napoli ahead on 50 minutes but saw his strike cancelled out 10 minutes from the end as Seleznyov struck.
